Ziyang Street

Ziyang Street, running through Taizhou City from north to south, was named after Taoist Ziyang, or Zhang Boduan in secular name, the founder of the Southern Sect of Taoism. Stretching 1080 meters, it is the most prosperous commercial street in Taizhou’s history and one of the well preserved historical blocks in China. In 2012, it was named “Famous Chinese Historical and Cultural Street” by the Ministry of Culture and the State Bureau of Cultural Relics. In 2013, it was awarded by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-rural Development the prize of “City of Model Habitat Environment in China”.
